I like that they didn’t all commit the same way. One’s barely undead, one went full corpse bride. That inconsistency is actually kind of charming.

I’ve been saying I want to do Ghostbusters for like three years and I still haven’t done it. Every October I see a photo like this and the cycle starts again.

Most people pick “goddess” and call it a day. These three actually picked which goddess and it shows. Medusa especially — that’s a deliberate choice and it paid off.

These aren’t characters you pick unless you had a real phase. Cleo, Clawdeen, Draculaura — that’s a specific roster and it means something that they got it right.

Three characters from a Scooby-Doo episode that aired maybe twice. You don’t pick the Hex Girls unless you actually grew up obsessed with them and never got over it.
21. Cavemen
Nobody’s trying to be a specific character here and that’s kind of the point. It’s just a vibe and they committed to it fully.
22. Vidia, Tinker Bell & Fawn
Tinkerbell is the one everyone knows and the other two are just along for the ride — but somehow that dynamic works in their favor.
23. Sam, Clover & Alex (Totally Spies)
I genuinely forgot this show existed until right now. The fact that it still reads instantly says something about how deep those character designs got lodged in our brains.

Jellycat as a Halloween costume is such a 2024 thing to do and I mean that as a compliment. Someone saw the stuffed animal trend and thought — wait.

That level of detail doesn’t happen unless you actually grew up with that movie and never fully let it go. Which honestly same.

Three Pennywises instead of one is somehow scarier than the original concept. Nobody questioned it and that’s the right call.
32. Three Little Pigs
This one’s so simple it almost loops back around to being genius.
Pig ears and a pink outfit and you’re done — but the fact that there are three of them is what makes the whole thing click.
33. Blu, Jewel & Rafael
I completely forgot Rio existed as a movie and then I saw this and felt genuinely happy about it. Blu, Jewel and Rafael as a group costume is such a specific and joyful choice.
