New Year’s Eve party games are the only reason I’d agree to stay up until midnight in heels.
You know how the night usually goes. Everybody walks in at nine looking amazing. By ten-thirty, half the room has melted into the couch and somebody keeps checking the time.
So I put these in the order a party tends to move.
The sit-down stuff comes first, while people are still showing up and holding a plate. It gets louder from there, and the last section is saved for the final hour before the ball drops.
You won’t need much for most of them. Balloons, plastic cups, a pen, whatever’s left of the champagne.
Pick a few, skip the ones your friends would hate, and let’s get you to midnight.

If you liked this, you’ll love this post too:
Big Group Games
Your college friends, your coworkers, and somebody’s new boyfriend are all in the same room now.
A couple of rounds of these and they’ll be acting like they’ve known each other for years.

The champagne’s getting opened anyway, so it might as well have a job. I’d start these late so everybody’s still standing when the countdown hits.

My favorite thing about New Year’s Eve party games is that nobody remembers who won by the next morning. They’ll remember who screamed the loudest, though.
So which one are you starting the night with?
Tell me in the comments, especially if your friends have a game they play every single year. I want to steal it.
