Black and gold nails are basically a little black dress and good jewelry, just on your hands. I can’t think of a party season where they’ve looked wrong.
Once the invites start showing up, this is the combo I’d book without overthinking it. Black keeps everything grounded and gold does the showing off.
Red is cute for about two weeks in December. This one gets you from the office party to midnight on New Year’s Eve on a single appointment, and it still looks good in January.
I pulled together 45+ ideas and sorted them by mood, so you can skip straight to whatever your plans look like.
Okay, let’s get into it.

Glossy & Glam
We’re starting loud, because that’s what party season is for.
If your New Year’s Eve outfit is already hanging on the closet door, your nails are probably somewhere in this section.

Sleek & Minimal
Not everybody wants their nails to walk into the room before they do, and most weekdays that’s me too.
These are the ones I’d wear to work on a Monday and still feel dressed up at dinner on Friday.

Sharp & Graphic
Quick heads-up before you scroll: a few of these need a nail tech with a steady hand and some patience.
Screenshot the one you like and bring it with you, because describing nail art out loud never goes the way you think it will.

Festive & Sparkly
I saved the countdown ones for last. They feel like the end of the night, when the playlist finally gets good and nobody’s checking the time.

Black and gold nails are a hard thing to pick just one of, and I’m not going to act like I’ve decided either.
Right now I’m leaning Dark & Moody. Ask me again the week of New Year’s and the answer will probably have glitter in it.
So which one is coming with you to your next nail appointment? Tell me below.
