Okay so figuring out what to wear in Miami — this is one of those things where I feel like I have a lot to say.
I’ve packed for this trip more than once and genuinely got it wrong the first time. I brought stuff that looked great at home and was miserable to wear the second I stepped outside. The humidity hits different there. Like, you’ll be walking two blocks and already regretting your fabric choices.
The other thing about Miami is that it’s not just a beach trip. You’re going from the pool to a rooftop to a night out sometimes all in the same day. So you kind of need miami outfits that make sense across a range of situations.
These are the miami vacation outfits I’d actually wear. Split into four situations, all doable without spending a fortune or sweating through everything by noon.

For Beach & Pool Days
South Beach is genuinely one of those places where everyone looks like they thought about their miami beach outfit a little bit.
Not in a try-hard way — just like, people show up with intention. It’s part of the vibe. A tiny bit of thought goes a long way here.
That’s really all it takes.
01. White Bikini, Done Right

White bikini, I know. Bear with me.
The cover-up is what makes or breaks this combination. The usual flowy linen thing doesn’t do much — a fitted beige knit midi dress worn over a white triangle bikini top and low-rise bottoms looks way more intentional, you can actually walk around in it, and the neutral-on-neutral against a tan is really clean.
How to style it: I’d go slim on the sunglasses — black rectangular frames, not the oversized ones. The look is already neutral and clean and you really don’t want to add visual noise.
Woven espadrille wedges and a round rattan tote and that’s genuinely it.
02. Black Bikini + Stripe Shorts

Navy and white striped terry shorts, a black ribbed bikini underneath, and a white oversized button-down thrown open on top.
The black bikini peeking through the white shirt is the whole point of this outfit. It gives the look a direction without you having to do anything else.
How to style it: You really don’t need jewelry with this one — the stripe and the black-and-white contrast are already doing enough. Black platform flip flops and a big straw tote.
03. Paisley Bikini + White Linen Pants

Beach day never actually ends at the beach for me. I always end up wandering somewhere for food or just walking around after, and a bikini and nothing else doesn’t really cut it for miami daytime.
A paisley print bikini in rust and sage with white wide-leg linen pants worn low on the hips. The print up top is doing enough that the white pants just ground it.
How to style it: If you’re keeping the palette warm — rust, cream, tan — the accessories basically pick themselves. Shell necklaces, a crochet hobo bag, brown platform sandals.
It clicks together in Miami in a way it might not anywhere else.
For Daytime Casual
This is honestly where most of your trip lives. Walking around, finding food, doing the things you don’t admit are tourist-y but absolutely are.
Wynwood, Little Havana, a random café you stumbled into — it’s not the beach, it’s not a night out, just the regular hours of the day.
You don’t need much for this. Just things that breathe and don’t require a whole decision every morning.
04. Knit Poncho + White Denim
I love this more than it deserves, genuinely.
Beige halter top under a sheer open-knit poncho, white denim shorts. The poncho sounds like it would be too hot but it’s so lightweight that air moves right through it — weirdly one of the cooler things you can wear in that kind of humidity.
How to style it: For me it’s the bracelets that make this — bamboo and resin stacked on one wrist. Without them it reads too plain.
Tortoiseshell aviator sunglasses, Birkenstocks, woven rattan clutch for the rest.
05. Black Bodysuit + Light Wash Denim

I pack a black bodysuit on every trip. It tucks, stays put, and requires nothing from you all day — which in Miami heat is everything.
Light wash frayed denim shorts, black scoop-neck bodysuit, slim black belt. The hair scarf is what makes this one — a blue printed silk scarf knotted loosely around your head adds color and personality without having to think about anything else.
How to style it: Once you’ve got the hair scarf on, you’re basically done accessory-wise. Black platform strappy sandals, a small bag or nothing at all — anything more would compete with it.
06. Sage Stripe Shirt + All White

White fitted tank, white linen shorts, oversized sage green striped shirt completely unbuttoned on top. Everything underneath is white so the stripe just floats over it.
Simple proportions but they look really considered — and you don’t have to think about it at all.
How to style it: I know it sounds like a small thing but the sage green Adidas that match the shirt — that’s what makes people ask.
Brown leather saddle bag, oval brown-tinted sunglasses, gold ring necklace over the tank.

For Chic Drinks
This is the sunset rooftop, the cocktail bar with a view, the kind of place where everyone shows up looking like they made an effort. Not full night-out energy — more like the warm-up.
Still Miami, still warm, but you want to look a little more put-together than daytime.
The difference from daytime is mostly in the silhouette and the shoes. A little more intentional, a little less “I just wandered in off the street.”
07. Olive Tube Top + Cream Trousers
Olive green and cream together — I did not expect to love this as much as I do.
Ruching on the tube top means it holds its shape without needing anything else to do the work. And the color combination is subtle in a way that looks really intentional in person — especially against Miami’s warm evening light.
I feel like myself in this outfit in a way I don’t always with trendier stuff.
How to style it: Where this outfit lives or dies is the shoe. A kitten heel mule is exactly right — flat tips it into daytime, a full heel and suddenly it’s a night out outfit. Layered gold necklaces, brown leather hobo bag.
08. Cream Halter + Sage Lace Skirt
Sage green floral lace midi skirt with a cream ruched halter top. I keep coming back to this one.
There’s something about the lace hem catching the light once the sun starts going down that makes this outfit feel like a lot more than it is.
It’s soft and a little romantic and very Miami at the same time. One of those combinations that photographs better than you expect.
How to style it: With a bag this personality-forward — shell-embellished rattan — I’d keep everything else quiet. Gold circle necklace, raffia block heels. Honestly that’s where I’d stop.
09. Ivory Lace Cami + Black Wide-Leg
Cream lace cami tucked into black wide-leg trousers. If you’re still figuring out what to wear in Miami for nights that could go either way — drinks or dinner — this is the answer.
It’s the outfit you reach for when you’re not fully committing to a night out but still want to feel like you tried.
How to style it: Gold jewelry is the only direction that works with cream lace — gold knot earrings, gold mesh watch. It’s quietly really good. Black saddle bag, black kitten heel sandals.
10. Brown Asymmetric Top + Cream Lace Skirt
I think about this color combination more than is normal, honestly.
Dark chocolate brown and cream lace — there’s a point of view to it. It doesn’t look like a default choice. With the asymmetric drape on the top and the midi skirt it feels dressed without going into overdressed territory.
This is the outfit I save for when I actually want to look good.
How to style it: I’d pick the pearl and gold sea charm necklace for this one — it feels specifically right in Miami, I don’t know how else to explain it.
Nude strappy kitten heel that disappears into the skirt color, cream croc shoulder bag.
For Nights Out
Miami nights are genuinely their own thing. It’s loud, it’s warm, it goes late, and everyone shows up looking like they meant it.
A miami night out outfit doesn’t have to be full glam — but you do have to bring something.
Two looks — one that’s a little more understated, one that’s not.
11. Cream Halter Mini Dress
There’s something about an all-cream outfit at night in Miami that just works.
It’s feminine without tipping into overdone — the halter neck, the pleated mini skirt, the way it moves.
And if you’re going somewhere with warm lighting, which is basically everywhere in Miami at night, the cream-and-gold combination photographs really well.
How to style it: If you’re committing to cream and gold — which I would — oval hoop earrings, cream woven mini bag with a gold handle, gold strappy heeled sandals. No necklace.
It would compete with the halter neck and this outfit doesn’t need it.
12. Black Cowl Mini
Sometimes you just want to wear a black dress and not think about it. Miami is actually a great place for that.
A cowl neckline with a ruched waist gives this one shape without being tight all the way through — comfortable in the heat and still looks intentional.
The A-line skirt hits at a good length and you don’t need to do much to make it work.
How to style it: All black works here — structured shoulder bag with gold hardware, strappy heeled sandals.
The black and gold clover chain bracelet is the one thing that breaks it up and that’s exactly the right amount. Hair slicked back or straight down.
That’s honestly everything I’d pack. Not more, not less.
Miami has a way of making you want to dress for it — you’ll get there and suddenly want to wear all of it. Just make sure at least one thing in your bag is something you’re genuinely excited about. The rest will figure itself out.
Pin it for later — you’ll want this open when you’re packing.
